This model builds on the original DW-5000 model, featuring a heavy metal case and screw-back, and incorporates cutting-edge technology. While the full-metal case and heavy screw-back construction make signal transmission difficult and unsuitable for reception, this model also features Multiband 6, which receives standard time signals from six stations around the world.

While retaining the DNA of the original model, this model offers even greater toughness. The metal case and screw-back are treated with DLC (diamond-like carbon) for enhanced wear resistance. The screw-back also features a mirror finish for a premium feel. The resin band is made of soft urethane for a comfortable fit. This is a meticulously crafted model that combines the original G-SHOCK design, first introduced in 1983, with advanced technology for an even more refined finish.
