The GMW-B5000 inherits the octagonal form of the original G-SHOCK model, the DW-5000C. The striking black accents the silver accents, emphasizing the G-SHOCK's strength while creating a monotone design that complements a wide range of styles. The mirror-finished top bezel and silver vapor deposition on portions of the glass add a sophisticated shine to the rugged style. The stainless steel bezel is forged, machined, and polished into a three-dimensional shape. To achieve a full-metal shock-resistant construction, a fine resin buffer is installed between the bezel and case. The metal band pieces are dimpled, inheriting the resin band design of the original model. Manufactured at Yamagata Casio, the creators of the original G-SHOCK, the watch also features an airtight screw-back case.
